Suzanne Trépanier, widow of former Rights and Democracy president Rémy Beauregard, is speaking out.
Beauregard was harassed and hounded to his death after Harper stocked the formerly proud organization’s Board with angry yokels. Hundreds of thousands of tax dollars were spent subsequently by those appointees in an ultimately fruitless attempt to blacken his name, while they lavished honoraria on themselves and let contracts to each other.
The new president, Gérard Latulippe, wants to put the past behind him and his agency. Small wonder.
But read Trépanier’s account and let’s not permit this sordid tale to vanish down the memory hole. Not yet.
