Some time ago I published a post that linked the identity of the far-right blogger “Sassy Wire” to a freelance reporter named Joanne Hill, who published until recently a blog called “Lumpy, Grumpy and Frumpy.”

It may be my political distance from the viewpoints expressed in both blogs, but I can’t detect much of a difference, except in style.

Nevertheless, Joanne Hill considers this attribution to be frankly defamatory, and has retained the services of the redoubtable Christopher Ashby to make that point forcefully.

On reflection, had anyone accused me of being the potty-mouthed “Sassy Wire,” I might have taken exactly the same action myself. Hence I withdraw any suggestion that “Sassy Wire” and Joanne Hill are the same individual, and apologize without reservation to Joanne Hill.
