Ice-water continues to gush through the veins of the Harper government.
Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird has been in the Senate this past week, arguing that complicity in using cluster bombs isn’t the same, nuh-uh, as using them ourselves, and “national security” can override humanitarian concerns.
The counter-arguments are presented cogently here. But in any case, one picture (above) is worth a thousand words.
Meanwhile, our Minister of Torture and Surveillance keeps up the attacks on Omar Khadr.
Too bad he wasn’t a teenaged female babysitter instead of a child soldier: he might have appealed to Toews’ softer side. Although, come to think of it, Khadr’s been just as…well, never mind.
