Bird. Egg. Confiscation.

Change of pace—a little Saturday silliness for y’all.

Don’t try bringing Kinder Surprise eggs into the US of A. A woman named Bird (this is becoming a mite too coincidental for my liking) found this out the hard way. Entering the Land of the Free, she had a KS egg confiscated by a border guard, who informed her that she could have been fined $300.

The US Food and Drug Administration has decreed that the hard-to-get-at toy inside presents a choking hazard to small children.

Bird subsequently received a seven-page letter requesting that she agree to the destruction of the egg by US authorities. If she wants to appeal, it will cost her $250USD to have the egg stored.

You know, it might almost be worth it. :)
