The wounded ones, that is. Truly sick-making: our veterans, arbitrarily cut off benefits with no explanation. They’re stiffed, denied information about benefits they are entitled to, put though a cumbersome application process that simply wears them down.
Instead of lifting a finger for them, the Harper government allows their advocates to be smeared, and their privacy invaded.
Meanwhile, at the front end, the government is busy promoting militarism among the young, dressing kids in cute little uniforms, encouraging them to “fire” replica guns at the crowds during winter festivals, and hyping the glories of battle with bombast about the War of 1812.
More cannon-fodder. And, as casualties, expendable.
