Glad we have these boffins around:

One veteran retired criminal profiler says the suspect, who now goes by the name Luka Rocco Magnotta, has a pathological need for attention and is going out of his way to shock the public to gain desperately desired notoriety.

No…you think?

Meanwhile, one Montreal criminal psychiatrist says it’s not unusual that the suspect flew under the radar for so many years.

He says that sometimes, looking back on a case, people will find clues in retrospect that weren’t noticed before.

Being an expert is fun!

I myself would observe that the suspect probably has a cold disposition: placing body parts in the mail is not a spontaneous act of passion, but requires planning. Magnotta is also likely trying to avoid the police.

Readers are invited to be experts, too. Add to the profile!
