A blast from the past, when the Great White Father knew best. (Oh, he still does? Gosh.)

Twitter has censored this letter, claiming, if you can believe it, a copyright violation. The letter was issued on Department of Indian Affairs letterhead in 1921. There is no copyright issue—the letter is squarely in the public domain. Twitter, and the folks who put them up to this (I wonder who they might be?) have some serious ‘splaining to do.

UPDATE: If a photo of a document is copyright (suggested here), is a photo of that photo copyright? Expert opinion is welcome—I’m admittedly beyond my level of legal competence. (But the photo stays.)
